Many visitors to Branson wonder why the Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Museum building looks like it has (barely!) survived an earthquake. In fact, the nearby town of New Madrid, Missouri, holds the record as the site of the worst earthquake in the continental United States - one that measured an estimated 7.9 on the Richter Scale in 1812. Billed as the "Most Photographed Building in Branson," Ripley's contains more than 400 unique exhibits in seven themed galleries. Highlights include a replica of the Roman Coliseum built entirely with playing cards, a 19th-century vampire killing kit, giant ball of twine, gallery of illusions, a two-headed calf, a human unicorn and a genuine shrunken head. Ripley's Believe It Or Not! is open year round.
